Today is the last Sunday in August. Sept. 23 this year is the fall equinox. The last calendar date for summer. This coming week is the end of summer vacations. The county fair had it final day Saturday. Summer activity is winding down. Kids are heading back to school. Weather wise, for this area, it has been the best actual summer we have had is 4 or 5 years. Some hot and humid days, some rainy days, mostly sunny days. This week there has be a subtle change in nature. The moon was also full this week. It came up late and stayed well into the morning light. The moon and changing weather is the subject of my poem today.
August Moon
..
Robins nest empty
Again
Summers heat
Tempered by mornings
Dew
..
Indigo nights through
Pearl essence day
Late to rise
Slow to lay itself
To sleep
..
August moon
Dragging summer
To
Its end
..

I was told this is good, but also short.
So is summers end.
