This weekend we pass through one of the meteor belts. Once agin this year
our night skies are clouded over during the best part of the show. So how does one make a wish upon an unseen falling star? Maybe it is best...for every wish filled has a price.
Cold summer rain
When summer's sun
bakes yearnings
of the soul...
Moonless nights open
heaven's wonder
to a thirst
unquenchable
Make your wish upon
a falling star...
Bringing comfort more than
wishes falling through
night's clouds,
washed to
unfilled dreams...
night's clouds,
washed to
unfilled dreams...
Warm winter's snow
with thoughts of
home and hearth
Cold summer rain
brings no joy
chilling bone and marrow
brings no joy
chilling bone and marrow
ccd August 2012
Here it was different. I have translated it for you.
ReplyDeleteThe night between the 12th and 13 August was warm and filled with stars. As expected, the peak meteor swarm Perseiderne namely that night.
In Denmark the weather was the weather clear end, and when the Moon only bothered late at night, conditions were really good to see and photograph the stars.
Although Perseiderne now have peaked for this year, then the swarm still deliver shooting star in the next few nights.
However, there will be still longer between each shot.
177 meteors of one hour
From the observations so far been submitted to the International Meteor Organization (IMO), peaked Perseiderne middle of the night between 12th and 13 august with an activity of up to 177 meteors per hour.
This does not mean that it was possible to see the 177 shooting stars an hour. When the activity of the star swarms specified period, there is talk about an idealized value.
This number indicates how many shots that can be seen under perfect conditions: very clear and very dark skies, visibility to the sky and stjerneskuddenes radiating point just above the head.
Since these conditions usually are never satisfied, always seen fewer shots than the activity set.
The Rays, however, not by the fact that the year Perseide-swarm was a beautiful experience.
So you see it was beautiful for those that watched the sky here in Denmark.
We had other things to do.
