I know I have not posted much in the past year. My mind is still out in never never land. However in Feb. I wrote a poem and submitted it to http://www.poetryfoundation.org/ for possible publishing in their magazine.
I just received my first rejection email. (It take 6 months to process). Is ok I found some mistakes I missed and then reworded it. Their rules state it has to be an unpublished poem. Every thing else I have written is published here so they are unacceptable. Today I am posting the submitted poem.
My eye is distracting but I can still read. The little floaters and cloudiness just break up the flow of the story...sigh... Enjoy the poem.

Power of the Story…Lost

Through the years by way of written
word…
Truth of history, fiction of science,
and mystery,
all have cast their images of
wisdom and beauty
upon my mind

Sadly….
The years of toil lays its
burden upon my body…
Eyes fail even the clarity of glass
and screen used upon the written page

Gone is the beauty in the
currents flowing from images
soaring to the heights of eagles, or
falling drenched in the roar of a
maelstrom careening through
canyon walls, of my mind’s
eye

I find no beauty in the
narration of prose that drones upon
the ears with the incessant hiss
of a whisk upon a drum
that lulls me to the
drowsiness of inattention.

The power of the story is
lost when, through these
 fog shrouded eyes,
 I can no longer
read the images into my mind

Trying to grow a small garden this summer onions green beans squash strawberries and watermelon it is a wait and see how it produces from the plants. I still go to the gym 3 days a week for a light work out. I get to fish 2 ponds in front of Kim's house . I just try to stay busy. I hope you and your family are doing well also. 2. We also grow a garden buttttt lol it`s very hard cause our dog runs around and dig many places. This dog we have now is real a shepherd and runs very very fast. We don`t come out many places as we did before. But no complain we have it good. We shall be thankfull we live a place like this. Oh fishing yes, that we are missing. Tell me later about your garden, if it runs as you expect.
